ROBIN THICKE (Dec. 8, 2009)

Having amassed millions in sales for his first two successful R&B albums, Robin Thicke is ready to venture into new territory. Originally planned for late summer/early fall, then moved to early 2010, Robin Thicke’s "Sex Therapy" has found a happy medium of Dec 8th and will be released on this day. His latest release will forgo the throwback R&B sound he’s perfected in favor of a new more modern edge. Tracks have already been recorded with Pharrell and Scott Storch. New music is also being produced by California duo Surf Krew as well as Jeffrey Bahsker, who’s famous for his work on Kanye West’s "Love Lockdown". Thicke’s new single, the slow burning "Sex Therapy", was produced by R&B hitman Polow da Don. The song deftly brings in Thicke’s trademark vocals and accompanies them with a contemporary rhythm and blues beat. Will this album end up being what "FutureSex/LoveSounds" was to Justin Timberlake? Or will Thicke alienate his loyal fanbase by switching up his sound this late into his career? Only time (and album sales) will tell.

JENNIFER LOPEZ (Jan. 26, 2010)

Jennifer Lopez has a lot to prove with her latest album. While her worldwide smash Spanish album of 2007 broke records in several countries (and led to a successful tour), her last two English albums were huge commercial failures. "Brave", with its all-star roster of hitmakers (Ryan Tedder, Danja, Keri Hilson, and J.R. Rotem, to name a few), failed to duplicate the success of previous Lopez releases like "J.Lo" or "This Is Me...Then". To make matters worse, Lopez was in the midst of pregnancy during the album’s release, making promotion difficult. Flash forward three years and J. Lo is back to remind the world why we love her in the first place. The new album reportedly harkens back to the dance style that was present on her debut. Working with Wynter Gordon (Mary J. Blige, Rihanna), as well as Pharrell, Pitbull, and Jim Jonsin (T.I., Beyonce, Lil Wayne), Lopez looks to create a new sound, while still giving her fans the grand choreography they expect from her videos. To promote the album Lopez created the alter-ego Lola, who appears on the new promo single “Fresh Out The Oven” featuring Pitbull. The album's official lead single, which is titled “Louboutin”, will debut in late November and is produced by Tricky Stewart and written by The-Dream. This album will precede Jennifer’s new film, "The Back-Up Plan", which is out on March 12th.

TONI BRAXTON (February 2010)

If it seems like it’s been years since we last heard from this classic R&B vocalist, that’s because it has been! Many of you might remember seeing her during her recent stint on TV’s uber-popular "Dancing with the Stars" series. Yet Braxton herself hasn’t released an album of new material since 2005’s "Libra". That album, even with its lack of support or promotion by then label Blackground Records, still managed to go GOLD. For 2010, Toni is being properly supported by Atlantic Records for her new release, rumored to be titled "Pulse". The album itself is a blend of sultry R&B and slick pop. Allegedly, this new album will feature assists from the legendary Babyface Edmonds (responsible for much of Toni’s award winning music from the beginning of her career), as well as hit makers Darkchild, Claude Kelly, Tank, the Underdogs, and even Sean Paul! Look for Toni’s new music to bring her right back to the top of the charts…as if she never left.

DRAKE (February 2010)

Much can be said about Drake and his debut album "Thank Me Later"...from the talented way he raps and sings, all the way to the thought-provoking lyrics in his music. After a huge bidding war ensued earlier this year, Drake signed a deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. Rumors are running rampant about what to expect from this album. Drake’s recent collabos with industry heavyweights Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, and Kanye West have only added fuel to the fire about possible guest features. Yet Drake himself expects his debut to go light on guests. One thing is certain, the album’s lead single will feature The-Dream and Drake is currently negotiating to have Sade and Andre 3000 appear on "Thank Me Later" as well. Will Drake’s first release on a major label live up to the hype? Will the album feature more singing than rapping? Guess we’ll all find out this February…

JENNIFER HUDSON (Spring 2010)

A lot has happened to Jennifer Hudson over the course of a year since the release of her debut. The family murders which resulted in the deaths of her mother, brother, and young nephew forced the raw talent into months of seclusion. When she finally emerged, Hudson was surprised with a Grammy award for Best R&B Album, an accolade she can add to her Oscar trophy case. Recently married and the mother of a newborn, Hudson has a new perspective on life. One that is sure to come through in her upcoming album. Expect a mix of R&B and pop that made Hudson's debut so successful, as well as some gospel sound as Jennifer herself recently stated that her new album will explore her gospel roots. Reportedly being executive produced by fellow Grammy winner Ne-Yo, Hudson’s sophomore CD will have depth and will showcase her amazing vocals and inner strength.

LA INDIA (Spring 2010)

Moving along from one Puerto Rican diva to another, Salsa’s reigning princess is back! Not much is known about India’s new release. In interviews held earlier this summer, she stated that she was undergoing a transformation both personally and professionally. Recently reunited with her estranged mother, and looking at life quite differently from when she jumped on the scene in the late 80’s, India’s theme for 2010 is reinvention. Rumors of her massive weight gain persist, and perhaps here is where one transformation will occur. The tropical airwaves are more than ready to accommodate India’s gorgeous vocals and strong production. If her recent collaborations are any indication of where she’s headed next, fans may be in for an eclectic treat. Work with Rakim y Ken-Y ("Tocarte Toa"), Gloria Estefan ("90 Millas"), Michael Stuart ("Un Amor Tan Grande"), and Yolandita Monge ("Mala") was hugely successful for her. And her smash remix with Tito El Bambino for "El Amor", has garnered colossal radio play in markets like Miami, Orlando, New York, Boston, Puerto Rico, and L.A. One thing is for sure, when India does release her new music, fans will have no trouble mistaking those glorious trademark vocals.
