The American Idol Eighth Season battle rages on now that ALLISON IRAHETA is able to have her commanding album out on the market. With all the controversy over Adam Lambert's homoerotic performance at the 2009 American Music Awards (not to mention Kris Allen's non-existence), is there a possibility that last season's vixen who shockingly placed in fourth could actually take the bull by its horns and supersede her two rivals?

IRAHETA probably didn't deserve to her been voted off the way she was...but she still has a chance to claim victory. For those that don't know...before gaining exposure on American Idol, IRAHETA won the reality show QuinceaƱera: Mama Quiero Ser Artista that was televised on Telemundo back in 2006. She won the monetary award of $50,000...but was never able to gain a recording contract out of her winning...even though it was part of the package. IRAHETA took everyone by storm during American Idol because of her singing ability that is strikingly similar to Pink's, Katy Perry's, and Kelly Clarkson's.

"Just Like You" does IRAHETA justice. It contains music that fits her personality perfectly...making it really hard to believe that what you hear is coming out of a seventeen-year-old young lady's mouth! She worked with songwriters like Chris Daughtry, Pink, Kara DioGuardi, Kevin Rudolf, and Max Martin and they all came together very well to create a very distinct record. The lead single "Friday I'll Be Over U" has a very "in-your-face" attitude...just like other tracks "Robot Love" and "D Is for Dangerous". The Rock power ballads are what really catch my attention. "Pieces" sends IRAHETA into soaring heights with every note she hits. "Still Breathing" is another song I relate to...how many of us have ever felt "suffocated" by someone in their life? I sure have...every day I do. "Trouble Is" is another anthem that captured my attention...I think IRAHETA definitely made a fan out of me!

Jive Records executives believe "Just Like You" can shift 75,000 copies in its first week of sales. Regardless, IRAHETA became one of this week's "Featured Artists" because I believe she has a chance to surpass others in her own right. She really deserves all the attention she gets.
